Labdara's BAKE & CRAFT SALE

Sunday, November 18th was a busy day for volunteers, bakers, craft makers and residents alike.  Our common room Tado Svetaine was abuzz with excitement and anticipation until the doors opened to welcome our first visitors and buyers at Labdara’s annual Bake and Craft Sale.  Over 120 people attended in the course of the morning and afternoon.  35 items of baked goods, from tortes, to squares, to delicious bars and cookies were donated.  One baker and volunteer stood out - Regina Stauskas baked and donated 6 items herself and then stood at the table selling all day.  She truly deserves a medal!!!  Thanks to the tremendous support of bakers, donors and  over 10 volunteers who sold during the day, the event raised $3,606 for the nursing home!

 

Tickets to the Toronto Raptors basketball game were donated again this year by Gail Jaseliunas.  $500 was raised for Labdara.  And the winners of the draw for these tickets were Edward Stoncius and Algis Maciulis.  The 50/50 Draw raised $508.  The winners of the draw were Serge from our Maintenance Department and Kimberly from our Dietary Department.  Congratulations to all!!!

 

The funds raised will be used to support resident activities such as their outings into the community, treats, supplies in support of various activities within the home.  Sincere thanks to everyone - without you we would not be able to report such a fine achievement that directly benefits our residents
