LITHUANIAN KŪČIOS were prepared for and served to our residents by the Maironis Lithuanian School students on Saturday, Dec. 8th in Tado Svetaine common room. With the encouragement and help of their parents and teachers the students prepared the traditional Christmas Eve meal dishes and presented them to the residents with explanations of the recipes. Everyone then got to taste them and enjoy the traditional Lithuanian meal. Father Aurelijus started the meal with a prayer and traditional sharing of the wafer PLOTKELĖ. The students then shared their talents by providing a brief program of readings and musical performances. This annual tradition brings much joy to young and old alike. Sincere thanks to Maironis School for keeping this tradition alive and sharing it with our residents.
