MAIRONIS STUDENTS BRING KŪČIOS TO LABDARA

On Dec. 9th, 18 students of the graduating class of the Maironis Lithuanian Saturday School continued the tradition of preparing and serving the traditional Lithuanian Christmas Eve meal “Kūčios” to our residents.  This is the 8th annual visit by the graduating class to Labdara.  The students prepared the traditional dishes and presented the recipes and stories around each one before sharing the meal with our residents.  Lithuanian Christmas Carols were sung and then the students broke into smaller groups for discussions with the residents.  A good time was had by all.  This is a very special event that the Labdara residents look forward to every year.  Thanks to the Maironis School for remembering us and for continuing the traditions of Lithuania.
