SCHOLARSHIPS

Scholarships Every two years, the Labdara Foundation distributes the ‘Labdara Foundation / Lithuanian Community Association of Toronto (LCAT) Scholarships.’ The scholarship fund was established by LCAT/Lietuvių Namai and is administered by the Labdara Foundation. The scholarships are intended to financially assist students of Lithuanian heritage to pursue their goals in post-secondary education.

This year, $11,000 will be distributed at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee

AN APPLICANT MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:

• be a Canadian citizen/landed immigrant of Lithuanian heritage,
• be a member of the Labdara Foundation. Proof of membership or a membership application with membership fee must be submitted with their application. Labdara Foundation membership application forms are posted below.
• be enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies at an accredited university or college and provide a verification of enrolment letter,
• have completed the prior year’s academic studies with a minimum of 70% or GPA equivalent and provide a copy of an official transcript. First year students should provide their final high school report card and indicate the number of volunteer hours they completed.
• provide a letter of reference which affirms your participation in Lithuanian community organizations or volunteer community service programs as a participant or leader since September 1, 2022.
• complete all sections of the scholarship application which is found in the link below.
• submit all required components of the application to:

In 2024, the following scholarships were awarded: $2,500 to Danius Verbyla, $2,000 to Aleksia Vadauskaitė, $2,000 to Jacintha Dirmantaitė-Groen in 't Woud, $1,000 to Aleksa Dirmantaitė Groen In 't Woud, $1,000 to Joris Meiklejohn. The Selection Committee was made up of the current Labdara Foundation Board President Zita Bersėnas-Cers, former Labdara Foundation Board member Rauda Dickinson and Internal Audit committee members: Genė Kobelskienė and Ed Stravinskas. Congratulations to all the scholarship winners and best of luck in your studies!
