CHARITY BINGO BENEFITS LABDARA

Over the years, a dedicated team of volunteers: Sandra Burke, Vidas Valiulis and Birute Batraks have worked at the Delta St. Clair Gaming Charity Bingo for the benefit of LABDARA Lithuanian nursing home here in Toronto.  They are known as Team LABDARA.   Arunas Morkunas (Labdara Foundation’s book-keeper) serves as liaison on behalf of the Board of Directors with the nursing home administration and Ontario’s Charitable Gaming Corporation that administers Charity Bingo in the province.

The Delta Charity Bingo Hall is located at Keele and St. Clair towards the West end of the city.  Before the COVID-19 pandemic arrived, our Team worked at this bingo hall several times per week raising funds for our nursing home that were spent to provide direct benefit to our residents.  The funds raised paid for music and art therapy sessions, patient lifts and slings, therapeutic mattresses, therapeutic wheelchair cushions, hip protectors, fall matts, skin tubing for leg and arm protection, motors for electric beds and other equipment needed by the residents.  In 2018 Team Labdara worked 38 sessions of Bingo and raised $51,415.  In 2019 they worked 36 sessions and raised $53,496 for Labdara.. The use of these funds is determined by negotiation between the nursing home and the Ontario Charitable Gaming Commission and set out in a contract that must be strictly adhered to and subject to audit. 

LABDARA Lithuanian nursing home is pleased to present “Charitable Gaming Community Good” – a new brand name and logo representing the good works that happen locally as a result of our participation in Charitable Gaming through Delta St. Clair Gaming.  Sincere thanks to TEAM LABDARA for their excellent and meaningful work through Delta Charity Bingo that provides direct benefit to our residents.

LABDAROS slaugos namai laimingi turėdami pasišventusią komandą – savanorius: Sandra Burke, Vidmantą Valiulį ir Birutę Batraks kurie jau eilę metų dirba Delta St. Clair karitatyviniame Binge LABDAROS naudai. Juos žinome kaip “Labdaros komanda”. Arūnas Morkūnas (Labdaros Fondo buhalteris) atlieka ryšininko funkciją derindamas slaugos namų reikalavimus su Ontario provincijos karitatyvinių lošimų/žaidimų korporacijos reikalavimais.

Delta karitatyvinis bingo randasi Keele ir St. Clair gatvių sankryžoje Toronto miesto vakarinėje dalyje.  Prieš COVID-19 pandemiją, mūsų komanda čia dirbo keletą sykių per savaitę tuo sukeldami nemažas sumas lėšų kurios visos naudojamos tiesioginiai gyventojų paramai.  Šių lėšų dėka slaugos namai galėjo įsigyti: muzikos ir meno terapijų sesijas, nupirkti ligonių iškėlimui liftus bei raisčius, terapeutinius matrasus ir kėdėms su ratukais terapeutines paduškaites, apsaugą klubams, kojoms bei rankoms, elektrines lovas, tt.

2018 metais Labdaros komanda Binge atidirbo 38 sesijas ir slaugos namams sukėlė $51,415.  2019 metais jie atidirbo 36 sesijas ir sukėlė $53,496 Labdarai. Lėšos turi būti panaudotos tiktai gyventojų tiesioginei naudai.  Tai nustatoma sutartyje kurią turi pasirašo slaugos namai su “Ontario Charitable Gaming Commission” kuriai atiduodama ataskaita.

LABDAROS lietuviški slaugos namai su malonumu Jums pristato naują Bingo emblemą -  “Karitatyvinis lošimas - bendruomenei nauda” (“Charitable Gaming Community Good”).  Taip siekiama atkreipti dėmėsį į daugybę gerų darbų kuriuos įgalina lėšos sukeliamos per Delta St. Clair Gaming.  Mūsų nuoširdžiausia padėka visiems, o ypač Labdaros komandai kuri nepailsusi toliau dirba per Delta Charity Bingo mūsų gyventojų naudai.
