From the donations received by Labdara, the Board of Directors allocates funds for priority projects such as various capital replacements, exterior patio seating upgrades, computer and security system upgrades, etc. based on priority needs identified by the administration staff of the Home.
Major fundraising efforts by the three GALA Committees, our BINGO Team and our Toronto Challenge Walk for Charities Labdara Team have made a huge difference to the residents of Labdara.
Funds raised by them have built the entrance portico, bought resident electric beds, mattresses and lifts, video camera security, outdoor furniture and awnings, backwater valve for flood prevention, sunscreen shades for resident dining rooms and much more.
The 2017 fundraising priority, on the occasion of Labdara’s 15th Anniversary, is replacing the resident dining room furniture for all three floors. The fundraising goal is $75,000.
Our future priorities include upgrading emergency electrical capacity for food coolers and electrical bed plug-ins and a nurse call system. We will implement priority projects as funds raised allow us to do so. Our operating costs are ongoing and annual. Anything beyond day-to-day operations depend on your donations.
